Sutor Mantellassi

The history of Mantellassi goes back a century to 1912 in a tiny hamlet in the province of Pistoia. In fact it was in Tizzana that two brothers, Ettore and Enea, created the brand name, attaching that worth to it which has enabled it to be handed down through three generations to today. Thus as tradition dictates in the Italian And European handcrafted shoe industry, Sutor Mantellassi’s roots lie deep in generations of master cobblers who have handed down the art of their trade from father to son and have refined their skills thanks to apprenticeships in the old Corporazioni, in the Confrèrie des Compagnons and the Fellowships of the Cordwainers.
